Medical clearance for a marathon, ultra or other endurance event, with cardiac screening where it is needed.
Fit to perform
The doctor screens your heart and circulation, including any warning history such as blackouts, chest pain on exertion or a family history of sudden cardiac death, and checks your blood pressure and general fitness for the event. A resting ECG can be arranged, which many endurance events and older participants should consider.
Bring the event's own medical form if there is one, and tell the doctor the distance and conditions so the assessment fits the event.
