Sports and fitness certificate.

A medical clearance for sport or an event, completed by a registered GP, usually the same day.

Fit to perform

  • A doctor every time
  • Today, every day.

What's involved

The doctor screens your heart and circulation, including any history of blackouts, chest pain on exertion or family history of sudden cardiac death, checks your blood pressure, and assesses the joints and areas relevant to your sport. A resting ECG can be arranged where your sport or your history calls for it, for example endurance events or if you are over 35 with risk factors.

Good to know

Bring your governing body's or event's own form if there is one, so the doctor completes exactly what you need.
