What's involved

Most councils require the DVLA Group 2 standard for a taxi or private hire licence, the same examination as a D4: vision, blood pressure, a urine dipstick, and a check of your heart, chest and nervous system. The doctor completes your council's medical form at the appointment.

Good to know

Councils use their own version of the form and some set slightly different requirements, so bring the exact form your licensing authority sent you. If your council asks for your GP records, bring your GP summary from the NHS App.
