Gulf / GCC
A Bahrain visa medical generally involves the following. This reflects Bahrain's current requirements as far as we know today.
Examination: Full physical exam including respiratory and cardiovascular auscultation, general appearance, blood pressure and pulse, height/weight, ECG, colour vision, visual acuity, mental status exam
Bloods: HIV, Hepatitis B (HBsAg), Hepatitis C, syphilis (VDRL); routine serology and haematology. Additional charge, confirmed at consultation.
Chest X-ray: For TB screening. Referred to our imaging partner; additional charge.
Other tests: ECG, colour vision test, urinalysis (sugar, albumin, blood), mental status examination
Vaccinations: Polio vaccination mandatory for applicants from a polio-reporting country; MMR mandatory for expatriates from an MMR-endemic area
The report: Completed on the destination's own form, an embassy template, or a covering report we draft, with all signatures and stamps included.
Requirements and forms are your responsibility. Visa medical requirements change and embassies do not always announce it, so you must check the current requirements directly with the Bahrain embassy or High Commission in London, obtain the correct forms, and satisfy yourself that you have exactly what your application needs. We will help wherever we can, but confirming what Bahrain requires is yours to do.
Validity and turnaround are commonly quoted by clinics rather than stated on the LMRA form, so treat any figures as indicative only.
UK doctors are explicitly permitted to complete it under LMRA guidance. Confirm whether a further in-country medical applies for regulated occupations under the 2-year re-exam rule.
