South & Central Asia

  • A doctor every time
  • Today, every day.

What's involved

A Maldives visa medical generally involves the following, based on Maldives's current requirements as we understand them today.

  • Examination: MoH form MOH-QA/F/17/67-0: full physical exam (BP, vision/colour, cardio/resp/neuro, teeth/hearing, mental state, digestive/GU/skeletal, pregnancy where applicable) plus chest X-ray and lab sections

  • Bloods: Blood group, VDRL (syphilis), HBsAg (Hepatitis B), HIV, haemoglobin, white cell count; urine albumin/sugar. Additional charge, confirmed at consultation.

  • Chest X-ray: For TB screening. Referred to our imaging partner; additional charge.

  • Other tests: Urine analysis

  • The report: Completed on the destination's own form, an embassy template, or a covering report we draft, with all signatures and stamps included.

Good to know

  • Requirements and forms are your responsibility. Visa medical requirements change and embassies do not always announce it, so you must check the current requirements directly with the Maldives embassy or High Commission in London, obtain the correct forms, and satisfy yourself that you have exactly what your application needs. We will help wherever we can, but confirming what Maldives requires is yours to do.

  • Part of this process may need to be completed in the destination country; we complete the UK part.

  • Downloadable form via a third-party mirror; content matches the official Xpat/MoH description. Narrow bridging allowance, not general UK-GP permission for new applicants.

What to bring

For a NEW work permit the medical is done in-country after arrival; a UK GP cannot complete the primary application medical. The only UK-standing case: an existing permit holder abroad whose permit expired may submit a foreign medical report (all mandated tests) for a temporary 15-day approval, then must repeat the full medical in the Maldives within 15 days of return.

The official form

There is no official form we can reliably link for Maldives. We draft the doctor's certificate to the format your Maldives embassy or High Commission in London, or your sponsor, specifies. If they give you a blank form, bring it and we complete it.
