A Mauritius visa medical generally involves the following. This reflects Mauritius's current requirements as far as we know today.

• Examination: A prescribed Medical Certificate (annex within the official EDB/PIO Guidelines) by a registered practitioner. For Young Professionals not in Mauritius, an overseas (UK) certificate can support the initial application. Regardless of category, three tests must be done IN Mauritius at approved facilities.

• Bloods: General blood work in the certificate; Hepatitis B Surface Antigen is one of the three compulsory in-Mauritius tests. Additional charge, confirmed at consultation.

• Chest X-ray: For TB screening. Referred to our imaging partner; additional charge.

• Other tests: HIV test - one of the three compulsory in-Mauritius tests (with HBsAg and chest X-ray)

• The report: Completed on the destination's own form, an embassy template, or a covering report we draft, with all signatures and stamps included.

• Requirements and forms are your responsibility. Visa medical requirements change and embassies do not always announce it, so you must check the current requirements directly with the Mauritius embassy or High Commission in London, obtain the correct forms, and satisfy yourself that you have exactly what your application needs. We will help wherever we can, but confirming what Mauritius requires is yours to do.

• Part of this process may need to be completed in the destination country; we complete the UK part.

• For categories other than Young Professional, confirm with EDB/PIO whether an overseas certificate is accepted for the initial submission; compulsory in-country testing applies in all cases.
