South Africa visa medical.

A South Africa visa medical generally involves the following. This reflects South Africa's current requirements as far as we know today.

• Examination: General physical and mental health examination. BI-811 requires the doctor to certify the applicant is not mentally disordered or physically defective, free of leprosy, venereal disease, trachoma and other infectious/contagious conditions, and generally in good health. 15-30 min.

• Chest X-ray: For TB screening. Referred to our imaging partner; additional charge.

• Other tests: BI-806 (Radiological Report) requires a chest X-ray confirming no active pulmonary TB, for applicants aged 12 and over. X-ray generally waived under 12; pregnancy waiver is provider practice, not confirmed DHA policy.

• Vaccinations: Not part of the requirement; yellow fever only if arriving from a risk country. We do not provide yellow fever vaccination; please arrange it separately.

• The report: Completed on the destination's own form, an embassy template, or a covering report we draft, with all signatures and stamps included.

• Requirements and forms are your responsibility. Visa medical requirements change and embassies do not always announce it, so you must check the current requirements directly with the South Africa embassy or High Commission in London, obtain the correct forms, and satisfy yourself that you have exactly what your application needs. We will help wherever we can, but confirming what South Africa requires is yours to do.

• dha.gov.za does not host a directly reachable current PDF; forms sourced via DHA partner/mirror sites (also BI-806 at suedafrika.org).

Bring passport and 2 photos. The doctor completes BI-811 after examination, then refers for a chest X-ray to complete BI-806. Date both forms close to the visa submission.
