A Turkmenistan visa medical generally involves the following, based on Turkmenistan's current requirements as we understand them today.

• Examination: HIV/AIDS test resulting in an original HIV/AIDS Certificate

• Bloods: HIV test. Additional charge, confirmed at consultation.

• The report: Completed on the destination's own form, an embassy template, or a covering report we draft, with all signatures and stamps included.

• Requirements and forms are your responsibility. Visa medical requirements change and embassies do not always announce it, so you must check the current requirements directly with the Turkmenistan embassy or High Commission in London, obtain the correct forms, and satisfy yourself that you have exactly what your application needs. We will help wherever we can, but confirming what Turkmenistan requires is yours to do.

• Part of this process may need to be completed in the destination country; we complete the UK part.

• The HIV certificate requirement is published on the New Delhi embassy site but not the London one, so uniform application to UK applicants is unclear.

The certificate must be dated within one month of the visa application and may be in English, so a UK clinic could in principle issue it, but the Embassy requires it from a provider 'certified by the Embassy' and no UK list was found. Contact the Turkmenistan Embassy London to confirm (a) whether this applies to UK-issued visas (it appears only on the New Delhi site) and (b) how a UK clinic becomes recognised.
