Acetazolamide

For preventing altitude sickness

For going up fast. Used off-label, and we say so.

POM Prescription required - prescribed by a LoveMyLife doctor after an online assessment or a consultation.

In brief…

Acetazolamide is the medicine UK travel medicine recommends for helping to prevent acute mountain sickness. It makes the blood slightly more acidic, which drives you to breathe a little deeper and speeds up the body's own adjustment to thin air. It does not replace going up slowly, and nothing does.
