For preventing malaria
One tablet a day, started before you go.
Atovaquone with proguanil, sold as Malarone and as generics, is one tablet once a day. You start it 1 to 2 days before you arrive in a malaria area and carry on for a week after you leave, which is the shortest tail of any of the common malaria tablets. It suits short trips and last-minute travel better than the alternatives.
