Concerta XL is the most widely prescribed long-acting methylphenidate in the UK. Its unique OROS (osmotic-release) technology delivers medication steadily throughout the day from a single morning dose. The tablet has a 22:78 immediate-to-extended release split – 22% releases immediately for a fast onset, while 78% releases gradually over 10–12 hours. This provides all-day coverage from one tablet, typically from early morning through to early evening.

Age restriction

Methylphenidate/lisdexamfetamine: children 6 and over, and adults. Atomoxetine: children 6 and over, and adults. Guanfacine: children 6–17 (MR formulation). All must be initiated by a specialist in ADHD.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep out of reach and sight of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
