Equasym XL uses a different release technology to Concerta XL, with a 30:70 immediate-to-extended release split. This means a slightly larger proportion releases immediately (giving a stronger morning boost) with extended coverage lasting about 8 hours. The capsule design means it can be opened and sprinkled on soft food – a significant advantage for children who can’t swallow capsules.

May affect ability to drive. Dizziness, drowsiness, and visual disturbances have been reported. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you.

Age restriction

Methylphenidate/lisdexamfetamine: children 6 and over, and adults. Atomoxetine: children 6 and over, and adults. Guanfacine: children 6–17 (MR formulation). All must be initiated by a specialist in ADHD.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep out of reach and sight of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
