Beclometasone Inhaler
For Asthma Prevention
The preventer that keeps asthma quiet.
In brief…
Beclometasone is one of the most commonly prescribed inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) in the UK. Used daily, it reduces inflammation in your airways, making them less sensitive to triggers and less likely to flare up. It’s the backbone of asthma management - the difference between reacting to symptoms and preventing them.

What you need to know
Daily prevention of asthma symptoms and attacks. Not for acute relief - that’s what your blue inhaler is for.
Beclometasone is a corticosteroid that works directly in the airways. It suppresses the inflammatory cells and chemicals that make your airways swollen, twitchy and sensitive. With regular use, your airways calm down, you need your reliever inhaler less, and your risk of attacks drops significantly.
Anyone with asthma who needs more than occasional reliever use. Different brands have different particle sizes (Clenil vs Qvar), so they’re not interchangeable - always use the same brand. Safe in pregnancy.
Order online and we review your request. A prescriber checks your consultation form for clinical appropriateness and contacts you if anything else is needed. Once approved, your medication is dispensed and delivered to your door.

When it arrives: Every order is sent tracked. Where this page says in post today, it goes out today. Where it says in post tomorrow, it goes out the next working day. On the rare occasions a medicine is unavailable, we will contact you to talk about timing and alternatives.
We dispense clinically equivalent generic medications where available. Prices shown are for the generic version. If you prefer the branded version, let us know in your order form and we will confirm any price difference.
Beclometasone Inhaler from £54.99 per inhaler.
SABA (salbutamol): tremor, headache, palpitations, muscle cramps. ICS (beclometasone, fluticasone, budesonide): oral thrush (candidiasis), hoarseness - rinse mouth after each use. LABA (formoterol, salmeterol): tremor, palpitations, headache. High-dose ICS: bruising, adrenal suppression.
LABA: must not be used without an ICS in asthma (monotherapy increases risk of asthma death). Tiotropium: hypersensitivity to atropine derivatives.
Beta-blockers: may reduce effectiveness of salbutamol and other beta-agonists - avoid non-selective beta-blockers in asthma. Potassium-depleting diuretics: increased risk of hypokalaemia with high-dose beta-agonists.
Salbutamol and ICS: can be used in pregnancy - uncontrolled asthma is more dangerous than the medications. Do not stop preventer inhalers during pregnancy. Compatible with breastfeeding.
Use every day, even when you feel well. Rinse your mouth and spit after each use to prevent oral thrush and hoarseness. Clenil and Qvar are different - don’t switch brands without medical advice. It takes days to weeks to reach full effect. Using a spacer improves delivery and reduces side effects.
