Nasal congestion from colds, sinusitis and hay fever.

Xylometazoline narrows the swollen blood vessels in the lining of the nose, which opens the airway.

Adults and children aged 12 and over. Not suitable if you have had recent nose or brain surgery, and take care with high blood pressure, heart disease, overactive thyroid or glaucoma.

Side effects vary. Common effects may include nausea, headache, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Please refer to the patient information leaflet supplied with your medication for a complete list. Report any unexpected or severe side effects to your prescriber or pharmacist.

Do not use after surgery through the nose, or with an MAOI antidepressant or within 14 days of stopping one. Ask us first if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma or an enlarged prostate.

Do not use with MAOI antidepressants. Take care with tricyclic antidepressants and beta blockers.

Not recommended in pregnancy. Ask us before using when breastfeeding.

One spray into each nostril up to three times a day. Do not use for more than 7 days in a row: longer use can cause rebound congestion that is worse than the original blockage.
